      1.  Ext. Bank – mid day

Austin and Steven run around the corner with duffle bags to be picked up in Mercedes s550.

Trey: (yelling) Lets go! Let’s go! Let’s go!

Tyler: (worried) I’m freaking out! We’re going to get caught.

Trey: Don’t worry we’re fine.

They speed to a parking garage to change and switch cars.

Cut to: Car meet

      2.  Ext. Car Meet – mid day

They pull up to the car meet

Trey: You said come back when I have enough to risk.

Josh: You think this is some sort of joke? Even if you had the funds there’s no way you could beat me in a quarter mile.

Trey:(confident) I got a hunnid racks I’ll win.

Josh: Bet it’s on

Don pulls out a matching duffle bag and drops it on the ground. They get into their cars and the race begins. Austin wins. The cars pull back up to the main meet and get out. Don pulls out a gun and cocks it and aims it at Austin. Everyone at the meet swarms Don and takes the gun from him.

Random car person:(screams) WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! NOT COOL.

The guy then takes his keys and hands it to Austin.

Brittney: What’s your name again?

The girls walk over to Austin and he places his arms around them.

Trey: Austin. Austin Jones

Immediately squad cars pull up with sirens and lights

Cop: Are you Austin jones?

Trey: Yes?

Cop: Place your hands behind your back you are under arrest.

Cop reads Miranda rights while he throws Austin into the back of the car.

Cut to: Jail

Austin walks out of jail.

His phone rings saying unknown. He answers.

Unknown caller: There’s a letter placed under your trunk. It contains all of the men that set you up. You decide what to do.

Film Project Research: Baby Driver

The opening of Baby Driver sets up a clear premise for the plot. It begins with a camera shot of the outside of a bank. It then pans over to three people in a car. The man and women get out, heading towards the bank and Baby stays in the car. Source music plays inside the car as Baby jams out to the tunes and sings along. A police car drives by, and the camera pans to the inside of the bank showing the man and women that got out of the car holding the bank up and shooting off guns. Just from these first two minutes, we can tell that Baby is involved with  a crime gang. We can also see that he is heavily attached to music and is responsible as the driver for the crime group. Close-up camera shots are used of Baby in the car to make the audience feel as though they are experiencing the scene with him. Long shots are used to show what is going on inside the bank from Baby's perspective. There were no opening credits, just the footage. The movie's budget was 34 million dollars and it made a profit of 226 million dollars. It won the Golden Trailer Award for Best Action Film.

Film Project Research: Death Race

The opening of Death Race is more focused on technical effects rather than actual footage. Text overlaps camera footage of the interior of a car's engine. The text explains the premise of the movie and provides background for the story taking place. The text comes onto the screen with a typewriter effect, appearing letter by letter. It describes an event taking place in 2012 as a result of the economy crashing in the U.S. A group of people began recording prison fights and posting the footage to the internet in order to make a profit. The first two minutes of the film provide a clear insight into the rest of the film. The director was able to set up the entire movie's plot within the first few minutes. This provided the audience with more background knowledge and peaked their interest by describing an interesting scenario. The movie had a budget of 45 million dollars and made a 75.7 million dollar profit upon release. The movie was highly successful, winning several film awards. Among these awards was the Saturn Award for best supporting actress and the DGC Craft Award for sound editing.
